Some of our customers have fallen prey to attempted fraud over the telephone or Internet.
Most often, ill-intentioned people pretending to represent one of the Carrefour Group's banners (Carrefour stores, Carrefour Market stores, Market stores, Carrefour Contact stores, Carrefour City stores, Carrefour Express stores or Carrefour Montagne stores) get in touch with our customers to let them know about significant money savings opportunities. They then get customers to dial a premium rate number (most often one which begins with: 08 99 XX XX XX, for example).
Over the Internet (Phishing):
Most often, ill-intentioned people pretending to represent one of the Carrefour Group's banners (Carrefour stores, Carrefour Market stores, Market stores, Carrefour Contact stores, Carrefour City stores, Carrefour Express stores or Carrefour Montagne stores) send fraudulent emails which appear to come Carrefour on the pretext that the recipient qualifies for a reward or a discount in the form of a sum of money or a gift card.
The Carrefour Group's banners are most definitely not behind these telephone calls and/or emails. This is fraudulent activity.
Any customer may report these schemes via the www.internet-signalement.gouv.fr website
Similarly, SMS messages or undesirable calls can be reported by calling 33 700. This is a spam report service created by telecoms operators, service publishers and hosting companies in consultation with the Government Department in charge of Industry and Consumer Affairs.
Fraudulent emails (or phishing):
You should know that fraudulent emails purporting to be from Carrefour are currently in circulation. These emails contain erroneous information and seek to harvest your personal data. They are not from Carrefour.
